Aging Stars: Trusted, Rusted, or Busted? Join the Debate!

As we gear up for the 2025 fantasy baseball season, the conversation around aging veterans is heating up. With players like Sonny Gray, Nolan Arenado, and Jacob deGrom at the forefront, it's time to dive into the debate: which of these players still holds value, and which are on the verge of being left behind?

Let's start with Sonny Gray. At 35, he’s been a surprisingly effective pitcher, boasting a career-high strikeout rate last season. But can he maintain this level of performance as he ages? Is he a trusted asset for your rotation, or are the signs of decline too concerning to ignore?

Then there's Nolan Arenado, who has seen his power numbers drop significantly. With back injuries and a long swing that seems to be catching up with him, is it fair to label him as busted? Or could he still find a way to contribute in a meaningful way, especially in AVG leagues?

And what about Jacob deGrom? The talent is undeniable, but with his injury history and age, is he worth the risk? In points leagues, could he be a game-changer, or is the potential for injury too great to justify drafting him?

Lastly, we can't overlook Marcus Semien and Trevor Story. Semien has been a reliable leadoff hitter, but with his declining power and age, is he still a valuable pick? Meanwhile, Story's injury history raises questions about his future productivity. Is he a player to avoid, or could he surprise us in a revamped Boston lineup?

I want to hear your thoughts! Which aging veterans do you trust heading into 2025? Are there any bold predictions you have for these players? Let’s discuss the potential risks and rewards of drafting these seasoned athletes.
